I have been used to creating web sites using HTMP, ASP etc, so trying out a program that does it all for you is very interesting. It is set out very logically and provides a clear set of design tools. There is a very handy manual that comes with the package which it is very useful to dip into as I feel the the software does need a little bit of an explantion to get you going. Serif have been producing web software for some time, although this is my first experience, so I can make no comparisons to earlier packages.
Although I have not been through the whole end-to-end process and put out a site live yet with this software, so far I think it is very impressive, just the thing to get your web site created and up on-line.
Much easier 'web site in a box' than I had thought possible...with great telephone support too. December 4, 2008

I am in the process of creating my first ever personalised website, and this boxset comes with 6 months free online web hosting as well as an amazingly generous allowance for web traffic.
The free telephone support I have so far received (not really necessary, but you can always judge a companies product by their telephone support) is excellent, so much so that I would recomend this to anyone who is interested in creating an online prescence, it really is so simple to use. And, as I have said, free telephone support from 8AM-8PM is an incredible bonus too.
Definately recommended, and I shall report back with more details later.

Having stalled with my own website creation with coding coming out of my ears, I had high hopes for this web publishing package.
WebPlus 10 offers a quick easy way to create a site using a DTP (desk top publishing) format, and comes bundled with image editor and a selection of free stock images to add to your website. Installation was easy and to get a feel for the program using a template is a good way to start.
The templates on offer were all of a similar style and seemed a bit uninspired, but customizing them to your own design was pretty easy.
At no point is any knowledge of html required, and it is all done by adding text boxes and pictures as if designing a newsletter.
It bases the design of a site on a "master page" where you add the elements you want to unify the site like the background pattern or the menu, then on top your pages are laid with content, so you don't have to replicate designs on each new page you create.
Once the site design is completed either publish direct to web or generate out the final html files to a folder on your PC. Generated image files are all renamed with a random set of alphanumeric characters, which makes organising files near impossible, but for those that just want to quickly make a site and upload it that doesn't matter.
For more experienced users who like to tinker with the html and coding, this package will be frustratingly inaccessible in its simplistic approach, and at the other end of the scale, beginners may find the program confusing with the buttons and options relating to web design and would benefit from following the tutorials and reading the included manual.
But for novice PC users wanting to make a quick professional looking website, then this could be the answer as it offers plenty of advanced web site items like e-commerce and forms neatly packed into an easy to use piece of software.

The new Serif Suite has just about everything you need to get your first websites up and running and is a fraction of the cost of packages like Frontpage. The interface is reasonably easy to use although perhaps it is best to have previous experience of creating websites. The supplied templates and graphics are pretty good and there are a number of more powerful tools to add functionality and dynamic features to your site - eg shopping trolley and blogs. Ideal for the hobbyist if perhaps a bit limited for serious business use. It would be interesting to see some professional websites using this to show off its full potential. Good manual included and online help works well. I look forward to learning more about the many features. Great value for money.

I wish I had this product a couple of years ago when I tried my hand at making my own web site. This just makes it really easy with lots of templates and wizards. No wonder it has had some rave reviews. You can edit your digital images with great editing software and create fantastic pages with Webplus 10.
